Healthy Villi's Meeting Schedule for 2013
Features Great New Formats, Locations
New Year’s is a time for resolutions – and the Healthy Villi has resolved in 2013 to serve the celiac and gluten-sensitivity community even more effectively with a completely revised format for our meetings.
Please read carefully, because much has changed – including the meeting locations!
But, first, Lee Graham, the Healthy Villi president, explains why we have overhauled the program:
“For the past five years, the Healthy Villi has orchestrated different types of meetings, including conferences, small-group meetings and quarterly meetings. Last June, the board formed two study groups to look into improving where we hold meetings, and to research a range of presentations.“The groups’ findings and our past experiences together have guided our decisions for the upcoming year’s events.
“For the past several years, attendance at our three quarterly meetings has been declining, while our conference attendance has been over-subscribed. We’ve also noted that almost half of attendees at our regular quarterly meetings are newly diagnosed.
“To accommodate this change in dynamics, we will now offer a mini-conference in the spring and fall at the lovely Four Points Sheraton in Norwood to satisfy those who prefer the conference experience.
“In January and July, there will be workshop meetings at the beautiful Fine Arts Center at Regis College in Weston. These meetings will be geared heavily toward those who are newly diagnosed or need a little review.”
(The new format will not affect the monthly small-group meetings, which will continue as before in Concord, Hingham, Needham, Reading and Wellesley.)
Below are details of the four quarterly meetings. Mark your calendars now!
